Both big political parties accuse each other of creating obstacles to the advancement of judicial reform. Former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha denounced during Parliamentary session that Prime, Edi Rama is the only person that does not want the implementation of judicial reform in Albania.
According to him, even the Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani wants its realization to be based on Venice Commission's recommendations, but not the Prime Minister, Edi Rama.
"Albanians must understand that Edi Rama is the only one responsible. This is the reason why judicial reform is hindered. He does not want its implementation at all. He is obstructing the creation of the National Investigation Bureau," said Berisha.
In reply to his statements, Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that he is very impressed on his attempts to be a free lawyer of SMI's party. "Now you are ready to be a non-paid lawyer of SMI, after the trial opens against RD newspaper on DIA scandal?" said Rama denying the accusations. Despite the replies in the Parliament, Judicial reform is still pending.
