A quantity of salmonella infected sausages was seized on Saturday by the National Food Authority (NFA) in a restaurant in Tirana. According to NFA the seized sausages were produced directly in the restaurant’s cuisine. This information was obtained thanks to the monitoring system defined by the law for food’s safety.
NFA inspectors promptly intervened seizing the entire quantity of infected sausages and blocking the preparation process. A fine of Lek 300.000 was also imposed to the restaurant owner for the violation of the food’s safety regulation.
NFA guarantees the citizens that inspections process will be extended to every subject operating in the food sector aiming to ensure their safety.
