Rama: Teachers’ Efforts to Be Rewarded, Salaries Increase Imminent
October 17, 2016

Prime Minister Edi Rama defined the Monday’s meeting with teachers’ community is the sweetest one, referring to their salaries imminent increase.

“This is the sweetest meeting for you, on view of the fact that your difficult efforts will finally be rewarded. This is the day when we should look back and remind ourselves of the difficult situation inherited in every sector. This fact was related to a hidden debt of USD 720 million, that included the debt of the education system,” said PM Rama.

He praised the work done by the Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla and the deep reforms undertaken in the education system.

“A teacher, one of you, managed to accomplish something that was not achieved by a number of individuals with scientific grades during more than 20 years. The only thing that they left behind was the degradation of the educational system. On the other side the effects of the deep reform in this system are clearly visible. More than 650 scholar texts were removed from the educational program in accordance to the teachers’ suggestion due to their total inconsistency with this system,” said PM Rama.
