Waste, Confindustria Suggest Ameliorative Addition
October 15, 2016

The Confederation of Industry of Albania (Confindustria) suggests an ameliorative addition to the waste import law recently adopted by the Parliament. According to Confindustria this ameliorative addition would have a multitude of positive effects if implemented.

“First of all, the recycling industry would be prevented, secondly, the waste import would be limited to the raw material, and thirdly, would increase the interest for the domestic wastes processing,” declared Confindustria.

The suggested ameliorative addition foresees the imported waste quantity definition by the Council of Ministers for each specific product. The allowed quote must not exceed 40% of the annual domestic wastes.

Confindustria has supported in principle the waste import law considering this a delayed measure and an obligatory step for the avoidance of recycling industry bankruptcy.
