German police arrested on Friday the 57-year-old Albanian driver of a truck with Albanian license plate that transported a significant quantity of cannabis sativa. A quantity of 230 kg of Cannabis Sativa, with a market value of Euro 570.000 was found hidden in the truck.
According to German police, the drugs quantity was loaded in Italy and would be smuggled to the Netherlands through Germany.
The narcotics quantity was casually discovered during a routine inspection of the drivers’ papers in a road-block. A strange smell coming from the truck led the police to inspect the vehicle with the specialized dogs discovering the cannabis quantity.
The 57-years old Albanian driver, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, will now be prosecuted for narcotics possession and trafficking attempt.
