Training on Communicating Europe in Albania Successfully Completed

Some 23 journalists from Tirana Shkodra and Vlora completed successfully the 3-day Training of Trainers “Communicating Europe and EU Integration Issues” (18-20 October 2016), organised by EU Information Network (EUIN) funded by the European Union.

During the certificate awarding ceremony Deputy Minister of Integration Erisa Xhixho welcomed the initiative and prised the immense role media can play informing the Albanian citizens on EU Integration process. 

The 3-day training course concluded with a study visit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the journalists were welcomed by Sokol Dedja, head of EU Directory. 

The training programme aimed at offering qualitative training course which will increase knowledge on adequate reporting on the EU and Albania-EU Integration process, responding to major demands for information and the need for communicating to the public this information especially after the country has received the candidate status for EU membership.

23 journalists representing both print and electronic media attended this 3-day training provided by Gareth Harding, Columnist with EU Observer, Journalism professor and media trainer and Leo Cendrowicz, currently Brussels correspondent with over 20 years of experience on EU reporting, as well as Albanian experts on journalism which reports on EU Integration process. 

Albanian journalists, got acquainted with EU Institutions, learned about EU in context, how the EU has expanded and deepened, practical tips and on how to better report the European Union and Media examples of how to report the EU ethics and specifics.
