The Albanian Defense Minister, Mimi Kodheli is participating in Southeastern European Defense Ministerial, (SEDM), a meeting that marks at the same time the 20th anniversary of this organism creation.
During her speech Kodheli praised the role played by this initiative for the cooperation between member states strengthening and the increase of security and stability in Southeastern Europe.
“The so-called Islamic State is a real threat not only for the Middle East and North-Africa but also for our societies. The last tragic events in Turkey, France and Belgium are a clear message,” said Kodheli referring to the current security issues.
She informed the participants in this ministerial about the imminent opening in Tirana of NATO Center of Excellence. According to Kodheli this center activity will focus on a detailed expertise of the best way to approach this issue.
