Gjirokastra’s Castle Soon with a New Image
October 14, 2016

Gjirokastra’s Castle, one of the most important historic elements of this city made of stone, will soon present a new and more attractive image. The Regional Directorate of National Culture of this city, in cooperation with US Peace Corps voluntaries, will enable a new image for this castle through special project enforcement.

This project has been already drafted and approved, thus the enforcement process is imminent. The main focus will be dedicated to the areas where the Ottoman canons are situated. The professional schools pupils will also become part of this project. They will take care of the new electric and plumbing systems.

The city’s castle will have a completely renovated image at the end of this project, becoming even more attractive for the domestic and foreign visitors whose curiosity for this object with historical values seems to be inexhaustible.
