The Minister of Interior Fatmir Xhafaj had an urgent meeting with Provisional Chief Prosecutor Arta Marku on Wednesday. No details have yet been unveiled about this closed doors meeting, which took place in the Ministry of Interior premises.

This unexpected meeting follows a wave of changes in the prosecution structure that made chief prosecutor Marku the epicenter of attacks and accusations by the discharged prosecutors.

Two lawsuits have been filed against chief Prosecutor Marku on grounds of abuse of duty and usurpation of the High Council of Justice (HCJ) competencies.
