November 13, 2016

Albania has the lowest costs per hour of work in Europe. According to Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, the average cost per hour of work in the European Union Countries is 24 euro, while in Albania, only 2.2 euro.

The data shows that even in the Balkan region, the cost of labor is on average two times higher than in Albania with 4.4 euro per working hour. Low cost of labor makes interesting place for foreign investment, but this is not considered a good indicator for the average income of a family in Albania.

Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in Luxembourg. Its task is to provide the European Union with statistics at European level that enable comparisons between countries and regions and to promote the harmonisation of statistical methods across EU member states and candidates for accession as well as EFTA countries.
