The massive exodus of the past year has alarmed many Albanian businesses, who are considering massive immigration as the main risk of the economy. The conclusion comes from the global risk report for 2016, which is published by the world economic forum of Davos.
According to the report, which is made by making direct poll on enterprises, more than 78% of businesses in Albania see massive immigration as the main risk to make business in Albania. Dozens of thousands of Albanians left the country last year, seeking asylum in western countries. This seems to have affected businesses, who fear having less working force and lower buying power in the economy.
The report says that the second main risk ofdoing business in Albania is a possible fiscal crisis. 65% of the Albanian enterprises fear a budget crisis that could hit the economy and cause huge consequences, such as a strong tax increase. The third highest risk for businesses in Albania are considered the strong energy price fluctuations. The fifth list of business risk is followed by unemployment and failure of any financial institution or mechanism.
