The chairwoman of Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) Monika Kryemadhi reacted on Monday over the protests against an incinerator construction in Fier.

She underlined SMI support for the inhabitants while warning Prime Minister Edi Rama of serious consequences if this project will not be abolished.

The inhabitants of Mbrostar and Verri villages are being violated by the police while objecting a project which will poison their lands. The incinerator project is not based on the waste management necessity but on the interests of a company owned by Socialist Party (SP) militants.

I warn PM Rama to immediately abolish this project, aimed to pave the way to waste import or prepare for serious consequences, declared Kryemadhi.
