The Power Distribution System Operator (OSHEE) continues inspections in different areas against abusive electricity consumers, focusing mainly on the most problematic ones.
Thus, only in the last three days, in the Shkodra region, including the Lezha and Puka areas, 35 persons were accompanied to the police station, mainly for unlawful reconnection of electricity.
Approximately 85% of violations detected by control groups result in the Shkodra area, where the level of losses continues to remain high despite the reduction in the last two years. Theft of electricity is carried out by reconnecting with the customer himself, in complete contradiction with the law, or by supplying with a second line outside the measurement.
The 35 cases are currently being investigated by the competent authorities, based on the completed charge-sheet by OSHEE and the Judicial Police. However, controls are still ongoing, urging customers to choose the legal path for payment of electricity bills, where they cannot pay off, can contact the Customer Care Bureaus to familiarize themselves with payment facilities and installments.
