The Provisional Chief Prosecutor Arta Marku had the first meeting with journalists on Monday since the election in this important position.
Speaking for the first time with the media, she warned surprises within the prosecution�s institution while declaring that law�s implementation would be a priority of her work.
�Law�s implementation is the first priority of my work as provisional chief prosecutor. There will be some changes that may come as a surprise to you. The changes done so far within prosecution�s structure were only the beginning. My impartiality and professionalism in this important office will be shown by my activity,� declared Marku, addressing to the journalists.
Referring to the tensions generated due to some prosecutors� dismissal from various districts prosecutions during these last days she denied any personal responsibility.
�The tension with the dismissed prosecutors was generated by the law not by the provisional chief prosecutor. Those who left their offices are aware of the motives behind this decision� said Marku.
She answered very shortly to the journalists� interest if she might be elected as chief-prosecutor with a 7-years mandate by declaring only �I would not say no�.
