The Albanian Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli is participating in the Southeastern European Defense Ministerial (SEDM) that is currently taking place in Rome.

In the context of discussions on the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, Kodheli is expected to bring to the attention of participants Albania's efforts to set up in our country the NATO Center of Excellence to study the phenomenon of foreign fighters

Southeastern European Defense Ministerial, SEDM) is a regional initiative created in Tirana in 1996 and represents a process of cooperation between the Ministries of Defense of the Southeast European countries to maintain peace and security in the region.

During this two-day ministerial the Defense Ministers of the participating countries are expected to discuss not only over the security issues that are currently faced by the member states, as the refugee crisis, the fight against terrorism, economic growth and the social development.
