The right wing representatives in Tirana Municipal Council, Leonard Olli accused Mayor Erion Veliaj of involvement in numerous illicit affairs. Through a press statement released on Sunday he stressed that Veliaj is responsible of severe law violations.

“A series of fact, recently discovered by the media, show that tender procedures are completed with no competition and the winner is predetermined. Despite the fact that issue is being already investigated by the prosecution a full clarification of the circumstances would be at the interest of public opinion,” said Olli.

He underlined the fact that a fund of Lek 1,2 Billion was given to a operator that presented forged documents for the city’s garbage collecting.

“The entire fund was given to an individual close to Mayor Veliaj, despite the fact that such a large sum was not necessary for this process. Let’s not forget that this fund is generated by the Tirana citizens’ taxes,” said Olli.
