Democratic Party (DP) Secretary for Public Relations, Grida Duma accused on Monday the Tirana Mayor, Erion Veliaj of traveling to Paris with a charter-flight, whose expenses were covered by a businessman. She called on Veliaj to publicly respond to this accusation by explaining the real motives that urged a businessman to spent nearly EUR 70.000 for a charter-flight for him. 

“No Albanian citizen may believe that a businessman would pay for Veliaj’s luxury trip without gaining something in exchange. What interests connect this businessman with Tirana City Hall?” said Duma, adding that was a clear indicator of Veliaj’s bargains with Tirana urban planning. 

She also denounced the public opinion manipulation  through previously recorded video-materials. According to Duma while Mayor Veliaj travelled to Paris with a charter-flight he appeared on TV through a previously recorded material while inaugurating a kindergarten.

“Veliaj’s easiness is deceiving public opinion is already a known fact. One day after his wedding he was seen in a video while returning to work. During a trip to Sri Lanka a video-material showing him at work was distributed to the media. This is the uncontrolled mania of a pathological liar,” said Duma.
