Tahiri's Appeal: Do Not Plant Cannabis

Minister of Interior Affairs, Saimir Tahiri made an unusual appeal to all the Albanian citizens on Saturday: do not plant cannabis anymore. In a press conference, he underlined that State Police has destroyed 99% of cannabis plantations and police actions continues all over the country.

"This is not the way to fight poverty. I understand all those that tried to fight unemployment or poverty planting cannabis, but this is not the right way. This is illegal," said Tahiri.

He accepted the fact that the country has a problem with cannabis but minister added that this Government is doing everything to solve this problem forever.

"This is a small problem, but it should be solved," said the minister.
