
Democratic Party MP, Eduard Halimi stunned the Parliamentary Session on Thursday by confessing his illness. He demanded the right to speak since the first minutes of this session stressing the necessity to include the opposition’s request for a referendum on the 'Waste Law' in Parliament’s agenda. Then, Halimi referred to his illness speaking for the first time publicly on this issue.
“Don’t think even for a single moment that poison does not know. I am a living example, if you are willing to use the expression “Experience it in first place”. The fact that blood illness are caused by polluted air is widely known. Let’s stop them today, because tomorrow will be late. Think about your children, so that they are not denied the right to live,” said Halimi.
His speech was followed by applause in the Parliament’s hall.
