The Democratic Party leader and other MPs of the opposition commemorated on Saturday in Shkodra the 25th anniversary of anti - communist protest on April 2nd, 1991, when Arben Broci, Bujar Bishanaku, Nazmi Kryeziu and Besnik Ceka were killed. 
“They left behind their test of courage for making a huge turn, the challenge to face the evil that is destroying our country, the aspiration for freedom and welfare,” said Basha.
He compares the current government with the communist regime, saying that same as 25 years ago, votes are being stolen and the law is being violated. “Their model is the past, crime that murdered Shkodra. Their model is enriching government leaders and impoverishing citizens. This is what has been in mind by their political predecessors. They have the same mind today. They say that power is above the law, and for them, power is violence. They are outside the democratic system that Shkoder and Albania embraced 25 years ago,” Basha declared. 

He underlined that DP will protest against the alliance of this government with the crime, an alliance that is violating the rule of law as partners of Edi Rama. "We will protest to liberate Albania from the claws of the Rama-Meta oligarch. The martyrs are our inspiration, and we will win,” Basha added.
