Seismologists have managed to record more than 516 smaller shifts, following the 5.3 magnitude earthquake that hit mainly the central Albania two days ago.
According to seismologist Rrapo Ormeni, aftershocks will continue for days or even weeks, but the rate of shaking will decrease until the hearth closes.
"This earthquake was of such magnitude that the aftershocks will continue. Usually, this magnitude level means that it will continue for days or weeks. In this regard, even during the following night there has been an aftershock and their number so far has reached 516. They are smaller, but there are also a more distinct ones that are felt by people in the epicenter and beyond," said Ormeni.
He added that in the following weeks, earthquakes will be normal and without any damage.
