The opposition parties demands a hearing in the Parliament with the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, concerning the demolition of the National Theater building.
Democratic and Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) MPs have signed a request directed to the chairman of the Media and Public Information Parliamentary Committee, Albana Vokshi. They are calling her at the meeting on Wednesday, June 20th.
It is not yet known whether the Mayor will go or not. We recall that in the last meeting that this committee made on the issue of theater, there were absent Majority MPs and Culture Minister, Mirela Kumbaro.
Meanwhile, following the opposition's request, a written response from the SP deputy Vilma Bello was made. The latter, a member of this committee, claims that two of the SMI member signatures have been falsified. According to her the signature of the MPs Kejdi Mehmetaj and Shezai Rrokaj were falsified.
"I believe there must be some falsification in the request, as the two deputies signatures are not the same as theirs. You may have done this from the unprecedented rush you have been showing for a long time," said Bello.
