Gjirokastra's Archive Closure, Historic Crime - Says Shehu

The Democrat MP, Tritan Shehu labels the imminent closure Gjirokastra's archive as a clear historic crime.

He declared on Sunday that government decision to shut down the stone-city's archive may be at least seen as anti-reform.

"According to the 'Renaissance' representatives the archives closure should be seen as reform. The only definition I managed to think of after analyzing the unprecedented act was 'historical crime'.

Instead this is much more than just an historic crime. This decision directly infringes the identity of this district, a symbol of our national pride," said Shehu.

His public reaction was finalized with a question

"Is this an intentional anti-nationalist act, the result of barbarism and ignorance or we are facing a move that serves to someone's interests?" asked the Democrat MP.
