The leader of Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, reacted on Friday, after the attack by Prime Minister Edi Rama and socialist MPs for the illegal lobbying of the DP in the US.

He stressed that the allegations made are ridiculous and that the DP has no relation to any individual, organization, company or Russian interest.

"The accuses that the Democratic Party has taken money from the Russians to conspire together with President Trump against Edi Rama, are a ridiculous. DP has not violated any law and has no direct and indirect connections with any individual, organization, company, or Russian interest. I made it clear, is Edi Rama the one who has connections with the Russian company 'Gunvor", but he did not reacted. We have asked the Albanian prosecutor to carry out any verification and have given the prosecution all the documents," said Basha.

He added that Edi Rama from weeks now is trying to stop investigations against his former minister, Saimir Tahiri.

Therefore, according to him the campaign of attacks, through paid mercenaries, aims to divert the public's attention from drugs and crime.
