A large scale trees planting action will be organized by the Municipality of Tirana on March 21, on occasion of International Day of Forest. The announcement was made on Thursday by Mayor Erion Veliaj during the planting of some 200 trees in a suburban area of the city. He also declared that every special date in the calendar will be seen as an opportunity to plant more trees giving a breath of fresh air to the capital.
�March 21 will register a record, not only due to the high number of trees planted in the capital, but also to the massive participation of the citizens. I want to address an appeal to every institution, private companies, schools and kindergartens to prepare for this action and inform the municipality on the number of trees they will plant on that day. This will be the day when we will break the record of 100.000 trees planted in Tirana,� declared Veliaj.
