The high number of the car accidents in Albania forces State Police to start testing new spy- cameras that can detect speeding and other driving offenses up to 1km away.
New-generation speed cameras can even catch people not wearing a seatbelt or talking on a mobile phone while driving, with some capable of being mounted onto police cars meaning officers can detect offences for a kilometre in every direction. Fine notices will then be mailed out.
"These are new technical devices that we have installed on the most problematic road axes. They can monitor all the driving offences and made a photo of them," declared on Wednesday the chief of road security, Skender Ismaili.
