Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta welcomed on Monday the Netherlands Foreign Affairs Minister, Bert Koenders during his official visit to Albania. Bilateral relations, the European integration process and regional developments were among the highlights of this meeting. 

Meta dwelt on the key reforms undertaken in Albania, while expressing the gratitude for the unconditioned support given by the Netherlands in country’s European integration process. Referring to the political stalemate he emphasized that Parliament is the only place where political dialogue should take place.

“Parliament is the right place for political dialogue and mutual confidence. Judicial reform remains on top of the list in our political commitment,” said Speaker Meta, adding that qualitative reforms acceleration is a must for the country’s European integration. 

Minister Koenders declared that European Union encourages full implementation of judicial reform and the creation of a climate of trust that would enable free and fair elections in Albania.
