Parks and Recreation Agency, part of Tirana City Hall, organized last weekend a bicycle race, called “Path 2017”. Professional and amateur bicycle drivers, nature-lovers and young voluntaries joined this race which aimed to promote the green path. The establishment of the necessary infrastructure needed for outdoor sports and inducement to active and healthy life were the main goals of this special race.

During the prizes distribution for the winners Tirana Mayor, Erion Veliaj defined this race a form to enable profits from the tourists for the rural areas inhabitants.

“The fact that an idea applied for the first time only one year ago is turning into a tradition. The Green Path is attracting initially the adventure lovers, bringing some innovation to this city. I am glad that these rural areas inhabitants will gain some benefits from this kind of tourism,” said Mayor Veliaj, adding that this institution would continue to support similar activities.
