Monsignor George Frendo, Archbishop of Tirana-Durres, greets Catholic believers in Albania in occasion of the Christmas Eve. In his message the last underlines Christmas value as a moment of reflection for the creation of a better human society.

“By proclaiming our faith that God’s son became a man we find in this mystery the foundation of our brotherhood and the motive of our mission to become part of the history and construct a worthy world for the man. God’s son came to us through the family. They experienced the joy of having a child, and the sadness of forced migration in absence of a place to give birth to the child. Albanian families have gone through similar experiences. Hospitality is a typical element of the Albanian tradition. Sadly, still today many families are experiencing insecurity moments, like Jesus family in Nazareth.

Expression of this uncertainty is the search for a place to live in peace, or proof of housing in another country, or loss of children. The Albanian family is very united and surely feels the absence of children migrated in other countries in search of a brighter future. Christmas urges us to create a fair and fraternal society. We rejoiced the fact that political parties agreed on the consensual approval of the judicial reform,” declared Monsignor Freddo, adding that this was a clear sign of political maturity
