Armed Robbery in Airport, Police: Thieves Took 10 Million in Foreign Currency

One day after the spectacular robbery in “Mother Teresa” airport police unveiled further details over this grave episode. According to the police the armed thieves took 10 million in foreign currency, money that should had been sent to Vienna, Austria.

Police declared on Friday that they suspected that the thieves collaborated with the private guards that were charged to guarantee a safe transport of the money to the in airport. According to police, private guards should be seven not three and their declaration that they were confused during the event was not convincing. Sources from police informed albaniannews.com that the car used for the robbery was stolen in Pogradec.

On Thursday three armed and masked persons entered in Rinas Airport terminal and took all sacks with money designated to be transported abroad.
