Durresi police notified on Sunday that 14 persons were arrested for mototing offences, while 53 driving licenses have been suspended.
The arrest and punishment of these citizens has been made in the framework of the weekend plan for increasing the road safety parameters, according to the police.
For serious violations of the Road Code and Criminal Code during the weekend, 9 drivers were arrested in flagrance for driving in drunk condition and 5 have been arrested for unauthorized driving.
53 driving permits have been suspended for exceeding speed limit and for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Durresi Local Police Department advises every road user to respect road traffic rules by eliminating any cause that serves as a source of accident .
Such controls by Road Traffic Employees will continue in the coming days and weekends, as police says.
