Environmentalist Associations and Civic Society organized a protest in Tirana on Saturday saying �No� to the construction of several Hydro-Power Plants in Valbona�s National Park. This protest, organized under the motto �Don�t touch my Valbona� follows the Administrative Court verdict issued on November 3 which paved the way to the construction of three HPP along the Valbona River.

The protesters� walked from the Independence Monument up to the Premier Edi Rama office carrying banners with slogans like �Don�t touch Valbona�, �Keep your hands away from Valbona River� and �No to HPP in Valbona�.

�HPP construction is causing multiple social conflicts. Some 34 people have been arrested so far due to these conflicts, one man died while another one was injured. This project is a clear attempted assassination by the government toward the citizens. Valbona National Park should be preserved not destroyed through similar projects,� declared the Civic Society activist Ervin Goci.
