Flu Outbreak, 2-Years Old Child Dies in Tirana

The number of victims due to flu outbreak rose to 5 on Tuesday. The latest victim of the seasonal flu virus is B.Z. 2.5 year old, which died after being hospitalized one week ago with high temperature, fever and cough. 

Medical staff effort to save the child’s life resulted unsuccessful. The analysis evidenced that the death occurred due to the AH3N2 seasonal virus.

The flu virus forced the executive to shut down schools during a two-week period of time aiming to avoid the virus spreading among the children. Schools gates reopened only yesterday, but the risk of virus spreading seems to be still present.

Citizens have been advised to avoid crowded areas, and immediately address to the family’s doctors after experiencing the first flu symptoms.
