Lek 1 Bn. Fund for Ex-Militaries Pensions
November 7, 2016

The Albanian government will spent a sum of nearly Lek 1 Bn. for ex-militaries pensions.

This fact was confirmed by the Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli through a press statement released on Monday. She underlined that this is another kept promise of the left wing government.

“We made a promise 40 months ago to restore an obligation which was based not only on what should this layer of society benefit, but also on a decision of the Constitutional Court which was never implemented by the previous government. With this new law we have made, the work done by the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Blendi Klosi and with the support of all parliamentarians who voted this law we have made it possible to benefit from this law around 5500 former militaries,” said Kodheli.

She underlined that the unpaid bills of the Ministry of Defense by the previous government were Euros 16 mln, a figure which were paid by the Albanian taxpayers.
