38 Catholic Church Martyrs to Be Beatified on November 5

November 5 will mark the beatification of 38 Albanian Catholic Church martyrs that perished under torture or due to the execution at the end of a long persecution by the communist regime. This news was announced by Monsignor Angelo Masafra, the chairman of Episcopal Conference of Albania.

This historical event will be held on Saint Stjefen cathedral in Shkodra. The decree for 38 Catholic Church Martyrs beatification was signed last April by Pope Francis. This movement places that beside Catholicism most distinct figures. Two years ago their portraits were placed along the road where the Pope-mobile moved during Pope Francis visit to Albania on 2014. November 5 will become a historical day for the Albanian Catholic Church and the Albanian citizens.
