Judicial Reform, Wilton: Reforms without Consulting the Public Are Tyranny

A consultation session on the judicial reform was held on Thursday in the premises of “Ismail Qemali” University in Vlora. Present in the meeting was deputy Chairman of OSCE Presence in Albania, Robert Wilton and also other representatives of Albanian judiciary.

In the meeting Wilton declared that the reforms, which have not been consulted with the public, are considered tyranny.

“Participatory Democracy turns the rights of the citizens into reality. It also makes the reform stronger and a strong reform is not just based on the interest of the politicians,” declared Wilton.

In addition, he assessed that the reform needs the expertise of the professionals, of the persons who teach and practice justice, but also it needs the expertise of those who implement it. And above everything else the diplomat declared that the reform needs to hear the voice of the citizens, who feel its effect every day.
