Albania Elected Vice President of Three UN Agencies

Albania is elected Vice President of the Executive Board of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS for 2018. The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania to the UNO, Ambassador Besiana Kadare, was elected Vice President of the Executive Board of the three UN Agencies: namely the United Nations Development Program, United Nations Population Fund and United Nations Office for Project Services.
Appointment to this important body that oversees implementation of the programs and strategic plan of these UN agencies is a testimony to our country�s strong commitment to play an active role in the field of sustainable development, particularly in the light of implementation of 2030 Agenda and achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
Albania�s term coincides with the beginning of 2018-2021 strategic plans of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS. Albania will make its contribution in the field of sustainable development, democratic governance, gender equality and efficacious response to climate changes.
