Albania and Iran agree in principle to organize a friendly match in 2018. The agreement was reached during a meeting of Albanian Football Federation (AFF) president Armando Duka with his Iranian counterpart Mehdi Taj in Tehran. Pairs emphasized the need for an enhancement of the bilateral cooperation through a series of friendly tournaments and referees exchange.

Speaking after the cooperation agreement between AFF and the Iranian Football Federation (IFF) signature President Taj said that this match may serve to Iran in the framework of participation in the World Cup. The date and place where this match will be played have not yet been defined by odds are that it may played in a neutral field.
