The outgoing Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sokol Dervishaj, suspended Thursday the licensing process for the inter-city lines, until the new minister takes over office. Minister Dervishaj�s decision came after the protest of a transport association operating in inter-city lines.
Through a press release, MTI announced that the process of drafting the inter-urban transport network has been done in cooperation with the inter-city and local transport associations to meet the residents' needs for full coverage of the territory.
�During the process, the Ministry took in consideration the opinion of the association that organized the protest, which has shown appreciation for the initiative and cooperation with the ministry,� said MTI�s announcement.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure appealed to all inter-city transport operators to operate in accordance with license conditions and not to abuse.
Regarding the protest of the association's representative for the licensing process, MTI said that �the representative of the association filing the claim is in a judicial proceeding with another party which the court has entitled with the license for operation of one of the lines and therefore he tries to misinform public opinion and make ungrounded accusations�
