The State Health Inspectorate (SHI) has begun checks on 150 entities that include pools in their premises to see if they meet the criteria related to water quality or the safety of vacationers.
According to the SHI chief-inspector,
Eltar Deda it has been found that the problem persists with the overpopulation of the pool or the lack of special staff for the provision of assistance.
Pools that are intended for the public are overcrowded forgetting that in these pools every 2 square meters should be intended only for one individual. Instructors certified by the Swimming Federation and the Red Cross should also be present in these premises, said Deda.
He stressed that fine would be imposed on subjects that fail to meet the criteria while these premises would be definitively shut down if the problems persist. Deda also warned the opening of a 2nd phase of inspections aimed to verify the predefined conditions observance.
