The leader of Environmentalist Agrarian Party (EAP), Agron Duka explained on Wednesday the motives behind this political force decision to reject registration as electoral subject in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections.

During a meeting with Administrative Unit 7 in Tirana he declared that numerous irregularities registered during by-elections of 2015 were one of the reasons for this decision.

“Why EAP chose to reject registration in the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the June 18 elections with this government? Why we chose to stand beside Democratic Party (DP) and became an opposition’s ally? The first reason is related to the impossibility to guarantee free and fair elections, a fact clearly indicated by the numerous irregularities registered during by-elections of 2015. The 2nd reason is related to the waste import in Albania. One of the first promises made by the Socialist Party (SP) after gaining power was the abrogation of waste import law. On the other side every effort is being currently done to enable waste arrival in Albania,” said Duka.

He stressed that EAP feels betrayed thus was obligated to take a difficult decision on view of this difficult situation.
