Ministry of Transports and Infrastructure (MTI) informed the public opinion over the roads situation in some districts all over Albania. Through a press release issued on Sunday MTI called on drivers to use chains in a number of road axes and avoid those blocked due to the massive snowfalls.

According to MTI all road axes in Tirana are passable by using chains. Drivers should observe the road signs and drive carefully in the frozen segments.

The use of chains is recommended in every road axis of Durresi district due to the ice presence in the road. Elbasan-Qafe Thane road axis is passable. Large quantity of salt has been poured along this axis to prevent vehicles’ sliding.

Llogara road axis is passable without chains thanks to the salt poured in the entire road axis ad snow’s removal by the road’s maintenance company.

Meanwhile the use of chains is recommended in Korca – Kapshtica and Pogradec - Qafe Thane road axes.
