National Inspectorate of the Territorial Defense (NITD) started on Thursday an action for the demolition of illegal buildings close to the Agricultural University in Tirana. This action is being followed by a large presence of police forces aiming to prevent any possible confrontation with the inhabitants. 

According to the plan businesses situated in this area will be the first to be demolished. Then it will be the turn of the families occupying university’ premise to be driven out by the police. 

The NIDT action is being closely monitored by the Agency for Legalization, Urbanization and Integration of Informal Areas / Constructions director, Artan Lame and Interior Minister, Sajmir Tahiri.
