The house where the distinct Albanian personality, Father Gjergj Fishta lived during many years, risks the collapse, despite being declared ‘Culture Monument’ in 2008. Three different projects for this historic house restoration failed to be implemented. The first project was drafted by the Ministry of Culture while the remaining two from Kosovo businessmen.
Historian Paulin Zefi, former-director of “Culture Monuments” in Lezha explains that these projects failure to be implemented forced these donors to step back.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Zef Çuni declared that Ministry’s restoration project implementation failure was due to the house’ owners claim for three new houses in exchange for this one. According to him this issue will be finally resolved through the construction of a entirely new museum house close to the original one.
