Eurostat: Albania the Highest Electricity Prices in Balkan

Albania has the highest electricity prices for households than any other country in the Balkan (EUR 0.115 per kWh).

The conclusion is defined in the last report of Eurostat which shows that on 2016 electricity costs less in Kosovo, Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia and even Bulgaria.

The prices in Albania are compared with Bulgaria and Montenegro despite the fact that Albania still produces electric energy from cheap sources, hydra.

For medium size household consumers, electricity prices during the first semester of 2016 were the highest in the EU in Denmark (EUR 0.309 per kWh), Germany (EUR 0.297 per kWh) and Belgium (EUR 0.254 per kWh).

The lowest electricity prices in the EU for households were found in Bulgaria (EUR 0.096 per kWh), Hungary (EUR 0.111 per kWh) and Estonia (EUR 0.121 per kWh). The price of electricity for households in Denmark was more than 3 times higher than the price in Bulgaria.
