Torrential rains of these last days triggered massive floods all over the country. Vjosa River burst the banks during last night hours flooding several hectares of lands in Novosela. Prime Minister, Edi Rama called an urgent meeting of the Emergency Operation Office on Thursday to be briefed on the situation and discuss floods response measures.

Ministry of Defense has sent troops and other personnel, helicopter, vehicles and small boats to help people in worst-affected areas evacuate to safety. 20 families have been already evacuated due to their houses proximity with Vjosa River. 

Massive floods have created a problematic situation even in Lezha district. 24 inhabitants have been evacuated by the army’s troops.
