Floods Situation, Army’s Troops Deployed

Two days of heavy rain has caused flash floods, river overflow and landslides in several parts of the country. 180 Army’s troops, a “Cougar” helicopter, excavators, boats and generators were involved in rescuing operations in several areas. 

10 troops, military vehicles and rescue boats were deployed in Tirana district as part of rescuing operation. 

Meanwhile some 80 troops were deployed in Lezha along with powerful motor-generators and water-pumps preventing floods situation escalation.

Army’s troops were also deployed in Fushe-Kruja, Lezha, Burrel and Shkodra due to the difficult situation generated by the floods. 

Armed Forces troops are ready to intervene in every part of the country’s territory, where there might be a need for search and rescue operations due to the floods situation.
