
‘Cultural Heritage from Mother Teresa’s Country’ exhibition opened on Wednesday in the National Historic Museum in Tirana. This exhibition, the first of this kind, brings for the first time to the eyes of public the costume used by the Albanian Saint, Mother Teresa. This costume, with characteristic motives of Prizren, the city of origin of Mother Teresa, was used by the known humanitarian at the age of 16.
The costume is composed by a silk-made shirt, braided by the Prizren women, the vest embroidered by the masters of this city, the scarf and the slops. The exhibition includes also a total of 54 different objects, an important indicator of the cultural heritage from two of the most developed political-economical-commercial and cultural centers of the 19th century, Shkodra, the city of origin of Mother Teresa’s father, and Prizren, her city of origin.
