Minister of Interior, Sajmir Tahiri signed on Friday an order to strengthen public security measures all over the country.

All private subjects providing different services to the citizens will be legally obliged to install security cameras within December 28 of this year, as part of the measures plan for the prevention of criminal episodes.

“The subjects that store explosive or contaminating substances should install high resolution security cameras and sign contracts with private security companies. All subjects that operate in the children’s transportation sector should install camera and GPS devices in their vehicles. High resolution cameras should be installed in the night clubs and casinos. Educational institutions will also be obliged to install security cameras in and out of their perimeter,” said the minister.

He warned of severe sanctions for those subjects failing to comply with this order after December 28.

“This project is not the fruit of our mind. There’s no place in the world were a bank operates without a security cameras system, pointing the finger toward police if robbery occurs. Let’s cooperate in making country a safer place for everyone,” said Tahiri.
