Tirana police launches criminal proceeding against the Democratic Party (DP) leader, Lulzim Basha on grounds of public appeal for violent actions. The materials related to this criminal proceeding were submitted on Saturday to the Tirana Prosecution office.

The DP leader Basha toughened the tones one day ago during a speech inside the opposition’s tent urging to the citizens to rise and react with violence against the institutions.

“If they want war that what will they have. Puncture their vehicles’ tires, break their offices windows. It’s time to drag them out of their offices and bring them in this square,” declared the opposition’s leader.

The criminal proceeding on Basha started on grounds of public incitement for violent actions, in accordance to the article 223 of the Penal Code. This article states that public incitement to violent actions is punished with fine or three-year imprisonment.
